Just had a brainwave type idea and no, I'm not in pain and I will be just fine.
Friday night I left chat because an antivirus I knew I hadn't installed but which had the microsoft logo on it told me I had trojans which needed to be cleaned. Like a clever computer user I avoided the buttons and clicked on the x but that brought up a download window.
After I sadly said goodbye to my first chat night on what seemed like months, I did a search for the name....xpantivirus.....and confirmed it was a nasty sneaky little bugger trying to trick me.
What it does is get in and plant a couple of apparently harmless "problems" then tells you it's found problems and that you should download a program to fix it. That of course is when the fun starts.
All gone now but my brainwave was telling others so that someone who may not think about it doesn't get caught! Another one plants an icon on your desktop then sends you messages saying your security has caught something. That one is called a Zlob. No comment on the people who name these things.
Anyways my puter is all clean now.
