It's that time fo the year when it's cold, and gets dark early. The washing never seems to dry, the frost and dew hangs on till late morning, the electricity bill goes through the roof... so out came the credit card and a flight to somewhere warm and sunny was booked today. I just have to last another two months. How's everyone else coping with winter?

Bit of a frosty start but nice and fine. So, Red puts on a load of washing at lunchtime, hangs it outside to dry. Was on the phone at 3pm and planning on getting the washing in after the phone call. Next minute it is raining, oh and hailing, but wait a minute it is bloody sunny!!! lol It was sunshine rain and hail all at once. Needless to say the washing got a bit soggy. ggggrrr Other than that I actually love winter. Though I do need a holiday.

The heater is on most of the time, but I honestly don't notice the cost being much higher, whether it's on or off overnight. I love the rain, the foggy mornings. And I don't miss hanging the washing on the line really. Both Ava and I celebrate our birthdays in Winter, 2 weeks apart, so it's a good time. Only downside is that Ava usually gets sick around this time of year and I have to hope she gets better in time for her birthday. ATM, she has a chest infection which means she isn't allowed to even finish the term in school...doctor's orders. So an extra long holiday for us... "Come to Heaven Silva Halo"

We are packing suitcases now to head off to the Blue Mountains tomorrow morning for our annual cold fix. Hope it snows... Brisbane winter is nice but Melbourne winter is better ;-)

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	Well, I am at home with a stinking head cold ( thanks to hubby!), working from home which is nice for a change, log fire is cranking, doggies are laid out in front of it! We have been getting snow flurries, cold today and overcast, lounge looks like a chinese laundry!! Horse paddocks are all muddy, horses are rugged up though. Anyone for a massage?

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	I like winter too - jumpers, jackets and scarfes, electric blanket on the bed, reading in front of the fire etc Having said that, we did just go to Bali for 8 days, which was lovely and hot, and the 13 degree Sydney morning on Tues took a bit of getting used to.. Nice that the days are getting longer again

Man the Blue Mountains with the gale force westerly winds last week were chilly! Thank goodness for the fireplace in our accommodation. We got off the plane tonight and felt as if a heatwave had struck! ;-)

I had to "chisel" ice off my windscreen and my car had a nice layer of ice all over it. Elijah thought it was great. lol

I am actually enjoying this winter. After the summer we had in Victoria (and those big scary fires.........) I'm not looking forward to the warmer weather coming again! The brightest star on the Walk of Fame......... Come and visit the very nortay Dora the Explorer at Pet Pupz!
