As sad as it is for him as a person, life is a journey and unfortunately not always a good one.. makes you appreciate what we DO have, doesn't it..

LAS if you walked into a cancer ward and said this, im certain you'd be told to fuck off... and i wouldnt blame them either.

cancer isnt a disease designed to strengthen people's constitution. its a fucked disease that ruins lives.

Blossy, I know exactly what you are saying, and I would NEVER walk into a cancer ward and say something like that... I KNOW cancer is fucked and it ruins lives.. like alot of people here, I have been affected by it..and seen it's disgusting, traumatic destruction. But what I meant by that is..

After the journey has been travelled, we do become stronger,as people, families and a community... whether the person concerned survived or not...There are many cases of families being closer after the cancer, and communities pulling together to support the patient and their family.
It's like losing someone in any other way... it all hurts like hell and life is not supposed to be a bed of roses, as I'm sure we all know here...
If it was, then we would all scream blue murder every time we scraped our knee.
We may not become stronger straight away, but eventually, in one way or another, we do.
And I think losses like this can make us more appreciative of what we DO have...

Honey, I would never prance in here spouting about how "we all must move on blah blah blah" in such a simplistic way.
I know every single one of us here has had their own experiences, both good and bad, but I believe that EVERYTHING is a lesson, and sometimes not in such an obvious way...

And I would never be so insensitive as to tell everyone that their path or lesson must be a particular way...
I was just stating my opinion based on my experiences in MY life.
I do not expect everyone to agree with me and that's why I feel comfortable saying stuff like this here, where I know people are honest and mature enough to reply in any way the feel they need to.

Edited to add another point I thought of after I walked away from the puter, still going over what I said...
And, latest reports say Patrick isn't going to die any time soon, like in 5 weeks...
Of course I wish him all the best, regardless of the fact that I never liked him as an actor, he is still a human being, like any other on the planet, and I hope he recovers, although pancreatic cancer doesn't have a high survival rate..
