Well, it's three days since the gig and my ears are still ringing. NOT good! Things started off promisingly with a good crowd response to Paul Gray. Not a Wa Wa Nee fan meself, but found myself singing Stimulation and Sugar Free, regardless. The Pseuds were ab fab - tight playing and a blistering performance of Love an Adventure, my fave. But sometime during the Pseuds set, the sound gremlins entered the works.

The volume became unbearably loud during Go West's set, to the point where lots of us covered our ears for a substantial portion of the songs. The speaker distortion exaggerated the bass and shook the floor, making it hard to hear other elements of the music - including Peter Cox's fantastic voice. A lot of people drifted away. I felt sorry for Go West - the crowd was in too much audio-agony to respond well, and the band didn't seem to realise what was going on.

Having said all this, the crowd perked up towards the end when GW did We Close our Eyes and King of Wishful Thinking. And it was great to have a boogie with the girls - which, after all, was the main point of it image
