Okay.... there's groups of people out there that want to change our flag, want to change our figurehead, want to change our national anthem, and others that want to change the date of Australia Day and what it represents.
I don't believe it should be dwelt upon as a day of invasion - that's been an idea that's been bounced around for years. Historically, it is the anniversary of the landing of the First Fleet, but I'm sure I'm not alone in believing that the day is now the opportunity to show our national pride and celebrate being an Aussie. I think the day has turned into more of an celebration of our identity as Australians in general.
If we don't "show our colours" on the 26th January, what date should be considered our national day? Leave it as is.
