I'm not as sure today as to where the fire is located and what the threat status is at the moment, but I went out along one of the main roads here with a friend last night to have a bit of a look at the fire zone and there are still alot of hot-spots, as you can imagine.

It didn't come as close behind my place as I'd first thought, but it came right in close to town down the way a little bit and has gotten into a huge stand of trees right behind a relatively new housing estate just at the edge of town.

If you can imagine this, it went across from right to left, jumped a major road, went through a stand of trees and over the river (as best I can tell) and continued on to jump the Western Highway to Melbourne and has gone into a heap of private paddocks etc over the Eastern edge of town. It came close to threatening our power station too.

It has so far destroyed the golf club (Will post pics shortly), 6 houses *last I heard*, a number of vehicles and a heap of sheds and fences. No human casualties that I've heard of as yet but have lost, unfortunately, livestock and wildlife I would imagine.

Thanks for your concern folks, I appreciate it, I did panic, I know, but in my mind you can never take a fire threat, no matter how small, for granted as there are so many, many factors that can influence what happens. Its just too unpredictable for my liking.

(Will post golf club pics as soon as I can get them onto photobucket)
